Disc Golf

Disc Golf Goal

Livingston Rotary donated the city's first disc golf course at Arkalelian Park on J Street.

Disc golf is played much like regular golf, except with different equipment in generally smaller areas. Instead of clubs, a ball, and a small hole in the ground, disc golf uses discs and a basket sitting above ground. At the beginning of each hole of the course a disc is thrown from a marked tee position toward the basket.  Players take turns making their tee throws, or drives, and then all players make their way down the fairway, or play area, for that hole. The player whose throw is furthest from the basket makes their throw first. Throws are made from behind the previous landing spot of the disc, or lie, until the disc is thrown or “putted” into the basket at the end of each hole. The goal is to have the fewest number of throws, or strokes, at the end of the round or completion of the course.
